Rainy day play dough

We have a huge craft cupboard full of activities for rainy days or busy times when I need the children to sit still for a minute.

A staple in the cupboard is play dough, I seem to forget about it though and when all other options are exhausted I think "ahhh why didn't I remember the play dough earlier!", as it is always a crowd pleaser.

This recipe is so quick and is made from items always in my pantry, I have been known to whip up a bunch when we have impromptu visitors with little ones to play and as its a favorite I thought I would share.  

What you'll need:

1/2 cup salt

1 cup plain flour

2 tbs cream of tartar

1 cup water

1 tbs oil

food coloring

What to do:

Mix all ingredients together in a sauce pan over medium heat until dough is pliable.

Allow to cool.

Stores in zip lock bags in the fridge for up to six months.
