Back to school - Free Printables

In eight sleeps, Summer school holidays will be over and my three will be heading back to school. I'm always quiet organised with the preparations, new school bags, lunch boxes sorted, the freezer has plenty of baked goods ready to go in lunches, new socks, shoes and fresh uniforms all ready for the start of the school year.

But this year, with the twins starting full time school (Prep) I have been trying to prepare them mentally as well, setting aside a short amount of time each day to get their brains working ready for a big year of learning.

Alexis loves doing work sheets, spelling, writing letters, reading, counting, and solving problems.

Rory loves it when he gets stuck into something, but takes a little convincing when I suggest we do some worksheets together.

It's not long before he is happily counting, writing and reading.

When doing work sheets together, I concentrate on them holding the pencil correctly, using the scissors safety, working through the questions in their brain or out loud instead of just guessing, and taking pride in their neat work.

I always add a few 'fun' work sheets and always praise their work, even if it is wrong I say "great try" or "I love how I could see you working out the sum in your mind".

In the end it doesn't really matter if they get the work sheets right or wrong, as long as they have a go and try their best.

They are both excited to start Prep in a few days and I feel happy in knowing they are prepared for what's to come this year.

I have added a few work sheets if you'd like to print them for your little ones.

Happy Learning! xx
