Around the house we have bags full of items for different occasions. Swim training, school, gymnastics, nappy bag, lunch bags, over night bags and so on.
We could always use more and these effective totes will be used as a library bag and a swim training bag.
You will need, totes, fabric paint, sponges or paint brushes, baking paper and masking tape.
Mix different tones of your colour of choice for effective stripes
Tape a patten onto the tote, a ruler, pencil and some patience can go a long way here
Place a sheet of baking paper inside the bag so the paint doesn't go through to the other side
Cut a stencil out using card and blot on the paint carefully, especially around the edges
Hang to dry over night
Fill to the brim full of needed items.
Pretty!!
Those look great...would be super cute to give a gift in a homemade tote too!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you get the plain totes from?
Wow! What an awesome idea and craft! Definitely handy for so many occasions. Would love to give it a try but need to find some Plain Tote in Tokyo!
ReplyDeleteBtw, I have nominated your lovely blog for Liebster award. If you wish to participate, please check details at www.bebenus.com/Liebster-award

Lovely bags... Very effective outcome for such a simple process! (I especially like the baking paper trick, I wouldn't have thought of that)
