My 'babies' moved into big beds over the weekend, no more cots in this house, no more packing two porta-cots and all the bedding when we go away and no more climbing in and out of their cots a million times a night.
I was hoping that the novelty would have worn off by now (3 nights in) but it most definitely has not, day sleeps have gone out the window, and they are out of their beds more than they are in them of a night.
I'm tired and cranky, the house is messy and we will probably have eggs for dinner.
The worst part? My 'babies' aren't babies any more, they are walking, talking, demanding, intelligent, independent, little people and it has all gone way to fast for my liking.
When did you put your babies in big beds?
Was it easy or hard?
Any tips on how to keep them in their beds?
I feel for you, transitions, such as this are never easy and always tiring. Matilda was a little over two when I put her into her big bed and it went OKAY. Until she realised there was an exit. Still I imagine I had it pretty easy in comparison - she didn't have a little buddy to get up to monkey business with. George on the other hand is two next month and I've decided I'm going to keep him in the cot for as long as he will fit in the thing. He is way more 'adventurous' and boundary pushing than Matilda was at that age. I know I'll regret it if I make the shift with him sooner rather than later.
