Broad Beans

In the last few weeks of Winter, I would watch the broad beans get a beating from the frosts and think that there is no way they would come back from it.

But they did, stronger than ever, and they have all sprouted at once, big fat juicy  beans, ready for picking, and ready for my little helpers to pod.

These beans were for a salad, I added tomato, onion, feta, blanched broad beans and a squeeze of lemon juice and served it with some delicious trout.

A beautiful dinner grown from our own garden, how lucky we are to eat such fresh produce.

Happy Friday! x
