Strawberry Picking

This morning we headed out to Longford to visit my Dad, pick some strawberries, and have a play at the park.
We've been picking Strawberries at Longford Berries for years, the photo below is from 2013 when the twins we're 2.

It was a lot easier today, a lot cleaner too, no muddy toddlers to take home. I didn't even need a bucket, I just let the kids do all the work for me!

We picked two kilos and will be back a few more times before Christmas to get some more berries for jams and other Christmas cooking. It was a bit early this morning for one of their ice creams, but they are so good we'll be back for one of those too.

The strawberries are so sweet, it's hard not to pop a few in your mouth, Rory was obsessed with the 'cute little ones', even though we kept telling him to get the big juicy red ones.

This afternoon the kids have been jumping on the trampoline with the sprinkler underneath, and just enjoying the start of the warmer weather.

The perfect end to the week.

Hopefully it won't be so long between blog posts next time.
